Yes, Jack Lemmon will seem gay but the witch part is supposed to be the gay code. Which makes it awesome.

Until the end, when it gets all fifties and annoying.

Yeah, it's pretty amazing. But I also like that I didn't know that when I watched it as a kid, but that I still thought Jack Lemmon's character was gay.
